The TLS certificate for https://ssokolow.com/ has the wrong domain

The TLS certificate for https://ssokolow.com/ is only valid for *.github.io, so Firefox complains that the domain is wrong.

Also, I was packaging quicktile for Guix, and their package linter complains when I put "https://ssokolow.com/quicktile/" as the package's home page (so I'll put in the github url):

TLS certificate error: X.509 server certificate for 'ssokolow.com' does not match: CN=*.github.io

Ugh. When I saw that happen intermittently, I thought it was a transient issue but I guess they're rolling out a more finicky config on their end.

Time to go debugging I guess.

OK, I didn't see anything mismatching against their docs and the virtual agent was no help, so I've opened a support ticket.

Apparently it's that my CNAME record for www.ssokolow.com was still pointing at the old ssokolow.github.com instead of the new ssokolow.github.io.

If it hasn't re-issued by 24 hours from when I changed it, I'll try un-verifying and re-verifying the domain to force a refresh.

I decided not to wait the full 24 hours. (More like 20) Re-verified. Now to wait and see if they issue a fixed certificate now.

Busy few days, but it's clearly still not working, so I'll have to budget some time to double-check everything against the GitHub docs and then contact them again about metaphorically giving the system a kick.
