Proxmox Tuxis backup server

I have a Proxmox server, a local PBS and a PBS with Tuxis (free version - tuxis.nl)
The Proxmox server and local PBS are showing correctly in Homepage. The Tuxis PBS shows an error: API Error: Unexpected token 'p', "permission"... is not valid JSON
I checked all the settings and they look the same in the local PBS and Tuxis. I had the same error before with my local PBS but that was due to missing API token permissions. The permissions on both are now the same...

Does anyone here use Tuxis and can help me out?

No. Unfortunately not.

To solve this, click on "permission" next to the API token tab in proxmox backup server and grant access to the token.

As I mentioned in the first post, access to the token is already granted. The path is set to /. Is that correct?

you have to add the permission also to the correspronding user, not only the token.
so clicl "Add" once more and add user permission.

If I try to add permissions either on the Access Control or the Datastorage, I get this:

At least for me, this answer was the correct solution. I was roughly ~4 hours into triaging this issue and once I stumbled across this post, I ensured both were then added/updated and everything worked as expected.

I think the free version of the Tuxis server does not allow root access and I cannot create another user...

i just want to write this up in case anyone who does a search on the error finds this thread like i did. My problem was similar but not exact & this thread helped me figure it out. The issue i had was i created the user & api key permission set as DatastoreAudit rather than Audit & got the same error as posted here. Changing it to just Audit fixed my issue. Hopefully this helps someone else out.

How did you create the user if Tuxis credentials only provide Datastore access? Is there a way to get root credentials?

you probably can get root credentials by subscribing to a paid plan

Hey, apparently the free tier is a shared machine so you can't do that, the only way is buying a plan, then you'll have full access to the PBS.
