Getting macOS Version of FreeTube Notarized--Would a donation help #8074

Apple's $100 per year ransom is only half the story it would also require at least of of the maintainers to permanently doxx themselves (users would see the details), there is no way to do it anonymously, which understandably none of us want to do. Edit: Can you please try using the latest nightly build instead (you'll need to be logged into GitHub to download it) and see if Gatekeeper is less horrible with it?: https://github.com/FreeTubeApp/FreeTube/actions/runs/17921993927 |

Interesting. I do not have any issues on macOS 26, so either they did not port this change to macOS 26 yet or something changed. I only have to run the command once I update FreeTube. For testing reasons, I also installed the latest nightly build, I don't have to run the command every time I want to open the app. |

Hi,
With the latest Sequoia macOS updates, it appears that macOS's anti-malware system is rescanning applications at least daily. Thus, the xattr com.apple.quarantine keeps getting readded to FreeTube, and seemingly EVERY time I start the app, I have to go through Privacy & Security to enable the app to execute.
What would it cost to have the app notarized so this behavior stops? I'd be willing to make a contribution towards this cost (or, potentially pay the entire cost, if it isn't too much), simply to keep gatekeeper from blocking the app. It gets old having to strip the xattrs from the app every time I want to run it!
Thanks!
HU
